Question: What is your fitness routine for yourself and for your horses?

 

Answer: I ride a lot of horses every day. I’m actively moving a lot, all day long. I do yoga so I can work on my strengthening and flexibility.

 

For my seasoned horses, I love working them on the trail. In their normal schedules, they go on the walker every morning and then they get ridden. Given the chance, I love to work them a couple days outside of the ring. I actually give them a chance to work—going up and down hills and exposing them to outside stimuli. It gets them more well rounded and happier to work in the ring.

 

In between shows, typically—unless there’s something I need to work on—I don’t do a lot of jumping if they’re jumping fit. But if it’s been a couple weeks then I fit in a little practice before the next show.
